Nine Swiss museums to investigate provenance of thousands of objects from Cameroon

Nine Swiss museums have launched a provenance research project to investigate thousands of objects from Cameroon in their collections, receiving £91,000 in federal funding for 2027–28. This institutional initiative focuses on identifying potentially looted or improperly acquired artifacts and addressing historical acquisition practices in the art and antiquities market.
