On 19 November 2025, a coordinated operation led by Bulgarian authorities and supported by Europol and Eurojust dismantled a criminal network trafficking stolen cultural goods across Europe and beyond, active for over 16 years. The operation spanned seven countries, resulted in 35 arrests, 131 searches of properties and bank vaults, and the seizure of more than 3,000 artifacts — including ancient gold and silver coins — collectively valued at nearly €1 billion.
