Art Dealer Guy Wildenstein Found Guilty of Tax Fraud and Money Laundering
The Paris Appeals Court found billionaire French-American art dealer Guy Wildenstein, 78, guilty of tax fraud and money laundering, sentencing him to four years in prison (two suspended, two under house arrest). The case centred on allegations that Wildenstein hid high-value artworks and assets inherited from his father in a network of foreign trusts and shell companies to avoid hundreds of millions of euros in inheritance taxes.
