Business Partner of Convicted Art Dealer Inigo Philbrick Sentenced to 20 Months in Prison

Alexander Newland, the financial adviser and business partner of art dealer Inigo Philbrick, was sentenced to 20 months in prison for his role in the $86 million fraud scheme. Newland and Philbrick defrauded art collectors, investors, and lenders by misrepresenting ownership interests in artworks and selling or pledging more than 100% of numerous artworks as collateral without disclosing the interests of co-owners.
